About Us
Established by Angelina Scornavacco at the corner of Railway and Washington Avenues, the ‘gardens’ quickly became a convenient and friendly stopping place. Roughly ten years later, Tony and Ellen Scornavacco continued the family tradition of providing fine food and a warm atmosphere. In 1982 their son, Alex, and friend, Bill Bernstein, renewed this tradition at its current location.
Serving a selection of fresh seafood delivered daily, homemade pastas, hand-carved chicken and veal, lasagnas, meatballs, osso bucco, and of course homemade desserts. We also offer some of the best Chicago style thin crust pizza, which was the first pizza served on the North Shore at the original Scornavacco’s Washington Gardens starting in 1944.
It is very important to us to honor the deep history, traditions, and community that have been created at Alex’s Washington Gardens. We are devoted to ensuring Alex’s Washington Garden’s continues to be a delicious, comfortable, favorite spot to dine with your friends and family.
Please come dine with us soon and say hello; thank you for being part of Washington Gardens’ history.
